Musician Lydia Jazmine has made it clear that her upcoming concert will have no political colours, insisting the event is open to all Ugandans regardless of their political affiliations.
Speaking in an interview with a local television station, Jazmine distanced her show from political divisions, saying her only focus is celebrating Ugandan music with her fans.
“This is a concert for everyone. It is not related to any political side. It is for people who support Ugandan music,” she partly said.
Jazmine Avoids Vinka’s Political Storm
Jazmine's remarks come just days after Vinka's concert became the subject of online political debate, with a section of Ugandans calling for a boycott after accusing the singer of favouring the ruling NRM party over the Opposition.
Despite the controversy, Vinka went ahead with her show at Lugogo Cricket Oval, where she attracted a significant crowd.
Jazmine appears keen to keep her own concert away from similar political battles, making it clear that fans will not be required to belong to any particular political camp to attend.
