Christians have been called upon to keep their faith in the risen Christ and follow his examples as per the teachings of the Catholic Church.

Christians across the world are still celebrating the Easter season which marks the suffering, death and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ.

According to Rev. Fr. Ntege Charles, the assistant parish priest St Peters Church Nsambya, the Lenten period that lasts 40 days before Easter prepares believers to suffer with Christ.

He however calls Easter, a beginning of a new era for all those who have been fasting to renew their faith.

Father Ntege who spoke exclusively to this site said; “we are supposed to be more renewed when we celebrate Easter because we have come to the climax of a period waiting for Jesus Christ to come out as a victor, the one who has defeated death. This is not just an event; it is something we must reflect in our life style after we have celebrated the resurrection of our Lord.”

He called upon believers to avoid going back to their sinfulness after Easter.

On the current political climate, Father Ntege advised all political contenders to work together, those who lost to accept and move one, before asking all Ugandans to peacefully await the upcoming Supreme Court ruling on the election petition filed by Amama Mbabazi challenging President Museveni’s election.
