President Museveni has visited the home of the late Maj. Gen. Julius Oketta in Kungu Wakiso and paid his last respects.

He commended the late Oketta for his role in fighting the Ebola epidemic in Uganda & West Africa.

The president also promised that government will take care of the widow and children.

He re-echoed the call for men in uniform to go for medical checkups.

The president said that internally in the army they have to discuss health checks after Gen. Aronda Nyakairima, Levi Karuhanga, Bamuze & Eria Kategaya had a similar problem at death.

Museveni told the mourners that Oketta’s battalion fought bravely at Corner Kilak and subdued what he termed as that confused woman Lakwena.

He called Oketta a very brave fighter.

Maj. Gen. Oketta will be laid to rest tomorrow Wednesday in Gulu.
