The recently appointed visitation committee of Makerere University has already formulated a work plan and started by reviewing past reports and other relevant literature, according to its chairman Abel Rwendeire.
Speaking at the government owned media center today, Mr. Rwendeire said the committee of nine had already secured working space at the President’s Office, Senate building.
He also explained that the terms of reference did not specify the time frame of the committee, but three months were given.
Rwendeire however added voice to many Ugandans calling for re-opening of the campus if the committee’s work is to be made easy.
“During our work it would definitely be good if the university was opened.”
The committee will look into the financial, academic and staff affairs.
“We are going to look at the sources of finance and the systems they have to manage these resources of finance. It is going to be a very comprehensive inquiry we are going to do” Rwendeire explained.
