Thieving city lawyer Bob Kasango is not to practice law again on Ugandan soil after the law council disbanded him on Friday for fraud.

Trouble for Kasango began in 2015 when he sold a client’s property twice and failed to refund the monies after being caught.

In 2015, Vivine Mukuru instructed her lawyer, Bob Kasango to sell a house on plot 30A Kololo on her behalf. Kasango then sold the property to two people, John Kaweesa at 385,000$ and Edward Kiyenje, a businessman, at 80,000$. Hardly had Kaweesa occupied the house, than Kiyenje told him, the house was his (Kiyenje).

Kaweesa would later confront Kasango and ask him to refund his monies, which the lawyer failed to, after issuing five cheques of 38,500$ which all bounced. Now, the property owner, (Mukuru) too came out to shame her lawyer, claiming he had not remitted a single coin of what Kaweesa had paid. The latter at this point dragged Kasango to the law council to force him to refund his money and be awarded a befitting punishment.

On Friday February 10th, the law council found Kasango guilty as charged, and struck him off the list of practicing lawyers in Uganda, before directing him to refund all the monies with interest.

However, the shameful lawyer says he will not go down without a fight, claiming the council’s decision was unfair and will challenge it.
