Angry residents of Beobwol village in Dokolo district nearly killed a Uganda People's Defense Forces-UPDF soldier for alleged murder.
 
Angry residents descended on Moses Ogwal, a UPDF attached to Bombo Military barracks and thumped him into coma for causing the death of Boniface Aluku whom he picked a quarrel with
 
Information obtained by Howwe.Biz indicates that the duo reportedly picked a quarrel while drinking local brew at the home of Alinga a resident of Beobwol village on May 20th, 2018.
 
After the quarrel, the duo left the joint together and fought along the way. Later, Ogwal reported the incident to the area LC I Chairperson, Geoffrey Okure, saying someone had attacked him along the way and fled.
 
The chairman however advised the officer to go home and promised to handle the matter the next day. However, Aluku's lifeless body was found lying along the road at 6am the following morning. 

The North Kyoga Region Police spokesperson David Ongom Mudong, says residents mobilized swiftly and stormed Ogwal's home, apprehended him and assaulted him into coma before he was rescued by police and rushed and to Dokolo Health Center where he is admitted under police protection. 

Meanwhile, Police handed over Aluku's body to Dokolo H/C IV for postmortem to establish the cause of death and opened up a case of murder against the officer at Dokolo Central Police station under CRB: 325/2018.
