The Speaker of Parliament, Rebecca Alitwala Kadaga has Friday returned to office after nearly a month in a hospital. Kadaga suffered fatigue related illnesses.

She however returned to office this morning, a week after her return from Nairobi where she had been rushed for further management. This morning, the speaker started off her day with the launch of the 64th Commonwealth Parliamentary Conference (CPC).

The conference is scheduled for 22nd-29th September, 2019 at Munyonyo Commonwealth Resort.

Kadaga says the 64th Commonwealth Parliamentary Conference will provide an opportunity to discuss legislative issues and marketing Uganda to other Commonwealth states. 
The speaker further says she is hopeful the Conference will generate revenue for the country. She adds that Parliament will mobilize Ugandans to exhibit local products during the conference and encourage delegates to plan for extra days to tour the country.

On the implication of the recent kidnap of an American Tourist, to the 64th Commonwealth Parliamentary Conference, Speaker Rebecca Kadaga said it is unfortunate that a tourist was kidnapped, but her role is it to consistently assure delegates of their security while in Uganda.
