President Yoweri Museveni has summoned the police top leadership headed by Deputy Inspector General of Police –DIGP Maj Gen Muzeeyi Sabiiti, to his Kisozi farm in Mpigi District to deliver a plan on fighting gangs in Kampala.

Earlier this week, the President ordered Gen. Muzeeyi to come up with a plan to deal with gangs that are terrorizing people in the country with pangas and iron bars.

“I have given 2 days to Commander Sabiiti of the Police to come out with a plan to combat these gangs. The IGP is away in Peru for a meeting. I will look at that plan, comment on it and it will, then, be communicated to all of you” Mr. Museveni commanded.

A team led by Sabiiti arrived at Kisozi this morning to discuss with Museveni who has been at the farm since his return from Juba on Tuesday, the devised plan to wipe-out armed gangs.

Some of the officers that went with Gen. Sabiiti include; commander First Division Maj Gen Samuel Kawagga, Chief Political Commissar –CPC AIGP Asan Kasingye, Director Operations –AIGP Asuman Mugenyi, Counter-terrorism commander- AIGP Abbas Byakagaba, Brig. Jack Bakasumba, as the Chief of Joint Staff and Commissioner Kampala Metropolitan Police Commander, Moses Kafeero.

On Wednesday, police and army top chiefs gathered at police headquarters at Naguru to discuss Museveni’s directive.
