Horror has struck Olwiyo village in Alero Sub County in Nwoya district after Wilfred Okello the in Charge of Pabo Health Center III in Amuru district was killed by some youths over land. 

According to available reports, Okello died at the hand of five youths who blocked the road with big logs and thumped him to death at around 7:30pm on Sunday evening as he returned from the home of the Parish LC II Chairman.  

Jimmy Patrick Okema the Aswa Region Police spokesperson, says the five suspects have been arrested and taken to Anaka police station. 

According to Paulo Okeny the Alero Sub County LCIII chairperson, the angry youths accused him of causing the arrest and subsequent remand of their mother only identified as Labol over a land dispute.

Okeny says Okello approached him in 2018 seeking to resolve a land dispute but advised him to handle the matter with local leaders.   

Okema says they also managed to recover a government motorcycle registration number UG 5794M, which the deceased was using when he was killed. The deceased’s body was handed over to Anaka hospital for postmortem.
