Police in Hoima City East Division have released on Bond, six teachers from Yanah Primary school in who were arrested over the weekend for allegedly conducting lessons against the partial lock-down.

Ronald Naizito, Leonard Kyaligonza, Juliet Ndibalekesa, Cissy Namkabirwa, Akio Ntibankane and Fred Mukasa were caught red-handed by police conducting lessons in disregard of the presidential directive closing all schools for 42 days as part of the measures to contain the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic in the country.

They were arrested alongside eleven pupils and whisked off to Hoima central Police station.  According to Julius Hakiza the Albertine Region police spokesperson, the teachers were released on police bond on Monday evening after being cautioned.

Police also handed over the pupils to the school management to trace their parents.
