The Police at Lira-City East Division has in custody 4 suspects on allegations of robbing one Cherop Getrude at around Boragole within Lira-City.

It is alleged that on Sunday 30th January 2022 at around 0500/c in Barogole Lira-City, Cherop a business woman and resident of Kitale village Sipi S/c Kapchorwa District was robbed while walking to pick her car which was parked at some petrol station.

ASP Patrick Jimmy Okema PRO-North Kyoga says the victim was attacked by a group of men armed with pangas and knives who made away with her handbag containing a Smartphone and Shs 70,000, all together valued at Shillings 500,000.

However, she made an alarm which prompted a security guard from Blue foxes company guarding a petrol station to respond to the scene and the thugs turned on him instead, forcing him to release a bullet shooting one dead.

Detectives and Scene of crime officers visited the scene, and recorded a statement from the complainant.

The deceased robber’s body is yet to be identified but has been conveyed to LRRH'S mortuary pending postmortem.
