Parliament will next week, vet seven new High Court judges recently appointed by the president.

During her communication on Thursday,  Rt. Hon. Speaker, Rebecca Kadaga announced that the Appointments Committee of Parliament will meet to vet the seven presidential High Court Judge nominees on Wednesday 9th March, 2016.

She called upon all members of the Appointments Committee to be present on that day to vet the High Court judge Nominees so as to speed up their appointment.

The vetting follows H.E President Museveni appointing the seven judges on the recommendation of the Judicial Service Commission.

President Museveni said the appointment of Ketra Katunguka, Flavian Zeijja, Anne Mugenyi Bitature, Susan Okalany, Stephen Mubiru, Anthony Ayuko and Moses Kawumi Kazibwe would be a relief since the recent elevation of six Judges to the Court of Appeal had left a huge gap in the High Court.
