There is an ongoing debate about Ugandan artists who buy social media views and followers.
Last week, musician Alexander Bagonza alias A Pass cautioned fellow Ugandan artists against buying likes, followers, and YouTube views.
His comments attracted divided opinions on social media.
Musician Karole Kasita supports the idea of buying the views and followers claiming it's also a technique for pushing someone's music career.
She believes different companies are hiring artists with numbers, so it's okay for musicians to invest back in their business by gaining numbers on social media.
Most companies are looking for influencers with sizable following on different social media platforms.
"I think everybody runs their business the way they want to and no one is going to tell you how to do it. You can buy views and followers to get endorsement deals from companies that are chasing numbers. Those contracts come with millions of cash and I am not against anyone who buys views and followers," she said in an interview with local television.
