A number of Ugandan celebrities joined musician Joshua Baraka and his family this week as they laid his father, Mr. Lawrence Okello Habalu, to rest in Kayunga District.
Mr. Habalu passed away after a period of illness, leaving family, friends, and loved ones mourning his loss.
Several prominent figures from the entertainment industry attended the burial ceremony to offer their condolences and support to the grieving singer. Among those present were musicians Bebe Cool, Lydia Jazmine, Melissa Murungi, and Elijah Kitaka.
The artists stood alongside Joshua Baraka and his family as they paid their final respects to the late Mr. Habalu.
Speaking during the funeral proceedings, Joshua Baraka paid tribute to his father, describing him as a dedicated parent who always prioritized his family's wellbeing despite facing financial hardships.
“I loved my father so much. Even when he didn’t have money, he showed up for us, he provided and took us to good schools for the better, and I will miss him so much,” Joshua said.
The emotional tribute moved many mourners, who gathered to celebrate the life of a man remembered for his commitment to his family.
Friends and colleagues from the music industry also shared messages of comfort and encouragement, highlighting the importance of standing together during difficult times.
Joshua Baraka has previously spoken highly of his father, often crediting him for the values and support that helped shape his journey both in life and in music.
