Legal brain and longtime lawmaker, Medard Sseggona, might have lost the National Unity Platform's (NUP) party flag to Mathias Walukaaga, but he is not giving up.

Sseggona, in an interview yesterday, confirmed he will be running for the position of Busiro East MP again in the coming elections and will contest independently.

Sseggona explained that Mathias Walukaaga is too weak to beat him in an election and is ready to give him a run for his own money.

Sseggona wonders what Mathias Walukaaga will be legislating in Parliament, claiming he should have stayed as a Mayor rather than seeking legislative duties.

"I will be running independently because I didn't concede defeat. Mathias Walukaaga is too weak a person to beat me in an election. And what is he going to legislate in Parliament, moreover on my behalf and [that of] other hundreds of people? This is really a joke," he explained.

Medard Sseggona insists he was just pushed out of the National Unity Platform by the leaders but never lost to Walukaaga during vetting.

The Busiro East MP also says he will only support Bobi Wine for the top office but will not be supporting other NUP candidates at different levels.
