Socialite Zari Hassan has reportedly flown back to South Africa, distancing herself from her embattled boyfriend Shakib Cham, who is currently wanted by police in connection with a violent robbery incident in Munyonyo.
According to preliminary police findings, Shakib — allegedly in the company of several rowdy youths — raided Chezz Boss Mutoto Bar in Munyonyo, assaulting patrons and making off with mobile phones and other valuables. The incident is said to have occurred on December 27, prompting authorities to launch an investigation and summon Shakib to assist with ongoing inquiries.
Sources close to the situation now claim that Zari has quietly returned to South Africa, choosing to prioritise her peace of mind as Shakib’s legal troubles intensify. Insiders say the businesswoman is not prepared to intervene with authorities on his behalf.

The situation is further clouded by rumours suggesting that the attack on Boss Mutoto’s bar was an act of retaliation. It is alleged that the tycoon had spent time with Zari at a popular hangout in Bugolobi the night before the raid — a development that reportedly angered Shakib.
