Luwilight’s Lawyers Have Failed Her, Not Me – Bebe Cool

Gagamel boss Bebe Cool has come out to defend himself following the re-arrest and remand of popular TikToker Luwilight, insisting he is not the reason she remains behind bars.

Last Friday, Luwilight was produced in court and remanded once again to Luzira Prison, despite earlier promises by Bebe Cool that he was willing to let her walk free after learning her lesson.

However, Bebe Cool has now clarified that the TikToker’s continued detention is entirely the fault of her legal team.

According to the singer, Luwilight’s lawyers failed to properly guide her in presenting strong guarantors to secure bail.

Bebe Cool revealed that the court rejected the bail application because only two guarantors were presented — and they failed to convince the judge that they could ensure Luwilight would return to court if released.

“Her lawyers are the ones keeping her in jail. They presented only two guarantors and they didn’t convince the Judge that they can force her to attend court after receiving bail. They should do better next time. It’s not me keeping her in jail, but the lawyers are letting her down,” Bebe Cool explained.

Luwilight is currently facing hate speech-related charges over making derogatory comments about Zuena Kirema and her cake business.

The case has continued to attract massive attention on social media, with many fans divided — some blaming Bebe Cool, while others now point fingers at Luwilight’s legal team for mishandling her case.
