Nasana Municipality MP-elect Zambali Bulasio Mukasa has threatened to drag Engineer Kaweesa Stephen to court over corruption allegations involving the National Unity Platform (NUP).

Kaweesa, who previously contested for the Nasana Municipality parliamentary seat, has been making rounds in the media claiming he paid over Shs600 million to secure the NUP party ticket.

According to Kaweesa, the money was allegedly delivered to the party president Bobi Wine through an intermediary.

He further alleges that despite making the payment, the party later denied him the ticket and instead handed it to Zambali Bulasio Mukasa.

However, Zambali has strongly rejected the claims and warned Kaweesa to stop tarnishing the image of the party and its leadership.

“Stop dragging the party and our president into the dirt. I will personally take on the matter,” Zambali said.

The legislator warned that if Kaweesa continues spreading the allegations, he will take legal action and present evidence in court to clear the party’s name.

“I will drag you to court and respond to the different allegations with evidence,” he added.

The accusations have stirred debate within political circles, with supporters of the party calling for evidence to back the serious claims being made.
