Rapper Keko has claimed that she was once in a romantic relationship with singer Sheebah Karungi, addressing speculation that has surrounded the two artists for years.
Speaking during a recent podcast interview, Keko alleged that she and Sheebah were together for two years before eventually ending the relationship.
“Yes, I did date Sheebah Karungi. We were together for two years, but we eventually parted ways because she felt her career wasn’t progressing in the right direction. I think she was becoming a little desperate, while my career was taking off,” Keko said.
The rapper further alleged that their relationship changed after Sheebah joined the management of music executive Jeff Kiwa.
According to Keko, the development created tension between them and contributed to the breakdown of their relationship.
“She later signed with Jeff Kiwa and, in my view, tried to sabotage me. Jeff did everything in his power to make her his puppet,” she claimed.
Neither Sheebah Karungi nor Jeff Kiwa had publicly responded to Keko’s remarks at the time of publication.
Keko's claims have generated discussion among fans, as they touch on a period in the careers of two of Uganda's most prominent female artists. However, the allegations remain her account of events and have not been independently verified.
