Singer Kapa Cat has criticized the current generation of Ugandan artistes, accusing them of avoiding music battles that she believes would promote the industry and entertain fans.
Speaking during an interview with a local television station, the outspoken singer said she has approached several female artistes with proposals for friendly musical face-offs but has repeatedly been turned down.
According to Kapa Cat, many artistes decline because they fear competing, even though such battles should be viewed as opportunities for promotion rather than personal rivalry.
"There are some female artistes I reach out to and ask to have a music battle, but they decline, saying they are afraid and can't do it," Kapa Cat said.
She specifically mentioned Karole Kasita, revealing that she personally invited the singer to participate in a music battle, but the proposal was declined.
Kapa Cat argued that today's artistes often misunderstand the purpose of music battles, treating them as personal attacks instead of platforms to showcase talent and entertain audiences.
The singer added that she is willing to face any artiste in a musical showdown.
"I can battle anyone because I'm a musician and an entertainer. The only artiste I might fear musically is Peter Miles, but if the opportunity came, I would still do it as long as the battle is about music," she added.
