President Uhuru Kenyatta has rewarded the national Sevens Rugby team a Sh10 million cash prize after they won the main cup title at the Singapore leg of the World Rugby Sevens Series.
Kenyatta hosted the team at State House on Thursday afternoon and congratulated them for their exemplary performance during the tournament last weekend.
"That Sunday was a good day for millions of Kenyans who were watching the game, not only in Kenya but also other Kenyans living in other countries," Uhuru said.
Kenya beat the defending champions Fiji 30-7 in a scintillating final, exacting revenge after the Pacific island nation pipped Shujaa in the two previous tournaments.
