Latest information indicates that there is panic at a government-owned Television station, UBC over forced retirement.
Credible sources have revealed to us that long-term serving managers, heads of departments have been forced to retire. Jane Kasumba, head of UBC TV is one of the workers on the list. Some workers have been at UBC for almost 30 years.
Reliable sources say government and other stakeholders have already drafted retirement letters and are yet to deliver them to concerned staff. When we talked to Jane Kasumba, she refused to comment on the matter. She says she is not the right person to comment on sensitive issues.
