In a brief interview with Jane Kasumba, she denies the ongoing allegations that she is among UBC staff members that have been forced to retire. She says the list has people that have clocked 60 years. When one reaches 60 years, according to the Government of Uganda, they’re supposed to retire. She says she is still young and fit to work.
“I am still doing my work. We are trying to make new changes at UBC and I am still young to retire. Yes, we have staff members that have clocked 60 years and have been forced to retire, but I am not among them,” she said.
A few days ago, we reported that some employees at UBC TV have been forced to retire. In a way of revamping the station, the Government and Stakeholders at UBC decided to retire some staff because they are not making any impact anymore.
