Quinn Abenakyo took home the Miss Uganda 2018/19 crown early Saturday, beating 22 other contestants at Sheraton Hotel Kampala. She takes over from Leah Kagasa (Miss Uganda 2016), who had the crown for 2 years as the pageant was not held in 2017.

The 22-year-old was followed by Tyra Margach and Ahebwa Patience Martha as first and second runners-up respectively. The beauty queen hails from Mayuge District in Busoga region and is currently pursuing a Bachelors’ Degree in Business Computing at Makerere University Business School (MUBS).

Quinn Abenakyo had been billed as the favourite right from the onset and she seemed to ride very well on that as an advantage against her fellow contestants during the Q&A (question-and-answer) session, responding to her questions easily before the judges of the night – Zari Hassan, Maggie Kigozi, Abryanz, Slyvia Namutebi and others.

On top of winning a Toyota Wish car (UBD series), Quinn and the top two runners-up, Ahebwa Patience Martha and Trya Margach will go to the Netherlands, have a treat at Pineapple Bay in Bulago Islands and a one-year gym session at Sheraton Hotel Kampala.

Sandra Khan and Nanziri Elizabeth were the other two of the top five finalists at the Miss Uganda 2018-2019 beauty contest.

There were musical performances from singers Beenie Gunter, Racheal K, Micheal Ouma and others.
