Comedian Patrick Salvador and Robert Kyagulanyi, also known as Bobi Wine, were very close friends. Salvador many times publicly endorsed Bobi Wine until money became a factor.

He was invited to State House and held discussions with the President. He also publicly endorsed Muhoozi Kainerugaba and has on a number of occasions hosted events for NRM leaders.

Salvador now says his relationship with Bobi Wine is strained. He adds that the NUP President no longer responds to his messages and calls.

He explained that the bitterness was first evident among Bobi Wine's followers and fans, who publicly detested him on social media.

"We are no longer that tight ever since my meeting with the President, and I understand. He no longer responds to my messages and phone calls. It's actually his fans and followers who first expressed bitterness against me before he did, but I understand where it comes from. I was very close to him and then chose to meet with President Museveni," he explained.

Salvador, however, says he remains close to a few people in the National Unity Platform, including Dan Magic and Godfrey Luyombya.
