As the country heads toward elections early next year, the music industry has become increasingly entangled in politics, with several artistes openly declaring their political sides.
However, Gloria Bugie stands among the few who have chosen to remain neutral.
Speaking in an interview with a local television station, the singer openly rejected the idea of joining politics, describing it as destructive and not aligned with her ambitions.
“I am not interested in politics at all. It’s something I don’t have love for and would term as destructive. I am fully focused on my music career — it’s the only thing that can give me sleepless nights,” she explained.
Gloria Bugie emphasized that her priority is her craft and career growth, adding that politics has ruined careers for many artistes who diverted from their purpose.
Despite her firm stance, the singer noted that she would still perform at political rallies if hired, since music is business, but not as a participant or supporter of any side.
“I would perform if hired because at the end of the day music is business,” she added.
Gloria Bugie continues to position herself as one of the few artistes determined to stay clear of political waves while concentrating on building her brand.
