Musician King Saha has questioned the impact of international awards on Ugandan artistes, saying local success matters more than recognition abroad.
Speaking about Eddy Kenzo’s BET Award, King Saha claimed the achievement has not helped Kenzo’s music career, arguing that the singer was doing better before focusing on international recognition.
The “Biri Biri” singer said he believes he is musically stronger than Kenzo despite not having won similar international awards.
“He failed with his BET award. I am far better than him musically, even without those international awards. He was doing better, but now he has lost his spot,” King Saha said.
King Saha added that artistes should prioritise building their local audiences instead of focusing heavily on international success.
