Musician and Presidential Advisor on Ghetto Affairs, Buchaman, has expressed strong optimism regarding the long-awaited amendment of the copyright law.
Buchaman, who was once a key member of Bobi Wine’s Firebase Crew, says he hopes the new law will finally allow him to benefit from the music he created during that period.
“When the amendment is fully done, I will benefit from it. I have music I released with Bobi Wine on different albums but I don’t benefit from it at the moment. With the passing of the law, I expect to gain from royalties,” he explained.
Buchaman has previously claimed that he has no rights over music recorded under Firebase, saying it is owned by Robert Kyagulanyi (Bobi Wine), who was the label head at the time.
With the copyright reforms expected in the next Parliament, Buchaman hopes his long-lost earnings may soon be restored.
