Popular TikToker and YouTuber Shalom Kaweesi has been released on bail, sparing him a grim Christmas at Luzira Maximum Prison.
On Tuesday, December 23, the Chief Magistrates’ Court in Makindye granted Shalom bail in connection with an alleged cyber harassment case lodged by controversial media personality and presidential advisor Jennifer “Full Figure” Nakangubi.
The court approved his bail on a non-cash bond of Shs 5 million, with each of his sureties also bonded Shs 5 million non-cash.
Shalom had earlier been remanded to Luzira Prison after appearing before the Makindye Chief Magistrate, who ordered his detention until December 30 as investigations continued.
However, following a successful production warrant, the court ruled in his favor, allowing him temporary freedom as the case proceeds.
Shalom is now expected to return to court on February 3rd at 9:30 a.m. for further hearing of the matter.
The development means the outspoken content creator will celebrate the festive season out of prison, even as the legal battle with Full Figure remains far from over.
