Singer-turned-politician Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu, popularly known as Bobi Wine, has vowed to continue releasing music even if he becomes the next leader of Uganda.

The National Unity Platform (NUP) presidential candidate, who is battling incumbent President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, says music is deeply rooted in who he is and nothing can separate him from it — not even the presidency.

“I will keep releasing music because it’s part of me and something I treasure a lot,” Bobi Wine told local media during a recent engagement.

Ugandans will go to the polls this Thursday, with the presidential race taking centre stage alongside parliamentary elections. The contest is expected to be fiercely fought between Bobi Wine of NUP and Museveni of NRM, as the nation awaits what could be a historic political moment.
