Agnes Kirabo, the Youth Member of Parliament representing Central Region, has come under fire following her loss in the Luwero District Woman MP race, with allegations of electoral malpractice emerging despite her defeat.

Kirabo, who had hoped to transition from youth representation to mainstream parliamentary leadership, was defeated by incumbent Luwero Woman MP Brenda Nabukenya of the National Unity Platform (NUP).

According to official results, Brenda Nabukenya polled 67,339 votes, comfortably beating Agnes Kirabo of the National Resistance Movement (NRM), who managed 55,696 votes.

Speaking after her victory, Nabukenya accused her opponent of attempting to subvert the will of the people through alleged electoral irregularities.

“We won at almost every polling station across the district, but the NRM candidate wanted to be declared the winner. There was ballot stuffing and other malpractices, but the people’s voice prevailed. We won by a landslide and they couldn’t catch up,” Nabukenya said.

Despite the allegations, Kirabo was unable to overturn the results and conceded defeat.

Agnes Kirabo, who is also known publicly as the mother of Mr Lee’s children, had actively campaigned alongside the singer for nearly three months, with the couple traversing Luwero District seeking voter support.

The loss marks a major political setback for Kirabo, whose ambition to expand her political influence beyond youth representation has now been dealt a serious blow.
