Musician Kakunda Nina, popularly known as Nina Roz, has broken her silence following her loss in the Sembabule District Woman Member of Parliament race.

Nina Roz finished third in the hotly contested election, which was won by Florence Nambazira of the National Resistance Movement (NRM).

However, the singer-turned-politician has rejected the outcome, claiming she was cheated out of victory.

Speaking in an interview with a local television station, Nina Roz alleged that the electoral process was neither free nor fair, accusing the ruling party of using intimidation and illegal tactics.

“It was not a free and fair process. I was cheated in broad daylight. Voters were intimidated, and the NRM machinery used everything possible to ensure their victory, including voter bribery and ballot stuffing,” she said.

Nina Roz added that she is currently consulting with her party leadership to decide the next course of action, including the possibility of seeking legal redress.
