Comedian Kapere has expressed frustration with fellow comedians, accusing them of sidelining him despite his talent, it has emerged.
Kapere revealed that he has not felt supported by the comedy fraternity throughout his career, claiming that many have chosen to ignore him.
He specifically singled out Alex Muhangi, noting that ever since the launch of Comedy Store UG in Kampala, he has never been given a platform to perform.
“Ever since Alex Muhangi established the Comedy Store UG show, he has never hired me. Why don’t they love me? Do they want me dead? Will they just come to my funeral and then recognize me as a good comedian, yet when I’m still alive, no one is showing me love? If that is the case, never attend my funeral, you comedians. I don’t want to ever see you there,” he said during an interview with a local YouTuber.
Despite his frustrations, Kapere expressed gratitude to Amooti Mbalanguzi for introducing him to the comedy industry and giving him his first opportunity.
