Media personality Zahara Totto has finally revealed why she left Spark TV for Next Media, saying salary cuts at the station forced her to seek better opportunities.
Speaking during an interview, Totto explained that she and fellow presenter Anna Talia Oze did not leave Spark TV on impulse, but after carefully considering their financial responsibilities.
The pair had become fan favourites while hosting Live Wire on Spark TV before making the move to Sanyuka TV.
"We did not just wake up and leave Spark TV. Salaries had been cut, and as someone with responsibilities, I had to make a decision that made sense for my life," Totto said.
She added that Next Media recognised her value and presented a better offer, making the decision much easier.
"When another employer sees your worth and offers you something better, you cannot ignore that, especially when you have people depending on you," she explained.
Totto's remarks offer fresh insight into one of Uganda's biggest media transfers, which saw several prominent television personalities leave rival stations for Next Media.
