Robert Kifunga Aguma the Bundibugyo NRM party registrar was strangled to death, a post-mortem report has revealed.

Kifunga’s lifeless body was discovered last Saturday in Bimala cell, Kanyansimbi ward, Bundibugyo Town council lying without any bloodstains.

Police picked up the body and conveyed it to Bundibugyo General Hospital before it was transferred to Fort Portal regional referral hospital for a postmortem. 
Initially, there were rumours that the deceased could have been poisoned.

According to Norman Musinga the Rwenzori West Regional Police Commander, the postmortem report indicates that he was strangled, and the police have commenced investigations into the matter.

He added that the manner in which the deceased was killed, indicates that it was an organized act, and urged members of the general public to avail information.

Umari Muhanguzi the Deputy Resident District Commissioner for Bundibugyo, asked people to remain calm and cooperate with security agencies to hunt down the suspects. 

Aguma was accused by a number of political camps of sidelining certain candidates during the NRM party primaries.
