Joker’s hotel, Bweyogerere was once one of the most expensive hangouts where secret parties, weddings of the rich and family get together parties would take place.
Today, it is another story to tell. It has gone to dogs. We visited the hotel and to our surprise a lot has changed. The swimming pool that used to be so spacious is no longer looking good.
Boda Boda riders are the only ones that go there for swimming. The kid’s park that also used to host children from rich families is always empty over the weekend... The message rooms no longer function.Jokers Hotel used to be among the top most hotels in the country that used to pay well their workers.
Today, the maximum a worker is paid is 150k and that worker has to be among top administrators. Staff that left the hotel alleges that, lack of clients and professionalism costed the hotel.
There is a tall building that is being constructed in the compound of Jokers Hotel and we were told, the owner wants to change the hotel into a residential area.
