I Thought Covid-19  was defeated and gone - Azawi defends her “My Year” song 

On Friday night, President Museveni directed an immediate lockdown of the country in a bid to stop the spread of coronavirus that has claimed the lives of hundreds of Ugandans. 

Frustrated Ugandans on social media turned their guns to musician Azawi for allegedly mocking them in her song, my year. 

In the song that has enjoyed relatively good airplay, Azawi sings that this year will be better than the previous years, but from the look of things, it's worse.

In her defense, Azawi said they recorded the song thinking Covid-19 had been defeated, the song was more of a celebration, a reason she emphasizes that this year will be better than last year. 

Azawi had a breakthrough two years after signing to Swangz Avenue.
