Musician Edirisa Musaza, also known as Eddy Kenzo, was appointed a presidential advisor on creatives last year, and he is indeed fulfilling his role.
He is also the most successful Ugandan artist in terms of the awards he has won and the nominations received, including the Grammys.
He has also remained consistent in praising President Museveni for the last few years. Speaking in an interview with a local television station, Kenzo credits the President for his success.
He explained that the peace maintained by President Museveni in the country has enabled him to achieve greatness across the country and the world in general.
The singer says Ugandan artists and all well-meaning Ugandans must be appreciative of the NRM government despite its shortcomings.
"I am grateful to President Museveni for the peace he has fostered, as it has played a significant role in enabling me to achieve what I have today. Despite any shortcomings along the way, we all need to be grateful to the President and the government for maintaining peace throughout the years," he explained.
Eddy Kenzo's statement can be taken as an endorsement of President Museveni by the UNMF leader ahead of elections next year.
