Musician Maddox Ssematimba is celebrated among Ugandan music legends for his great contribution to the country's music industry.
He has not released new music in a long time but continues to dominate with songs released years back.
Songs like "Nakatude" and "Namagembe," among others, continue to be hits across the country, and the singer remains an icon of the industry.
With great knowledge and understanding of music, Maddox Ssematimba has urged Ugandan artists to embrace originality, setting a unique and authentic character.
The singer explained that originality brings about career development and is the reason songs live past their release dates.
He specifically asked artists to emulate John Blaq and Jose Chameleone, revealing that they are authentic and their songs have the original signature of Ugandan sound.
"We should stop copying Nigerians. We should embrace originality; it helps you to be unique and authentic. Producers should start creating original sound, which is Ugandan, for the good of the industry," he explained in an interview with a local television station.
Ssematimba also urged artists to get better management for their career growth, particularly those pursuing music as a business.
"I believe it’s all about management. When an artist chooses to go commercial, they need to be well-established. Management can elevate you to wherever you want to go," he added.
