Earlier this week, reports emerged indicating self-proclaimed tycoon Don Chris had stolen over five hundred million Ugandan shillings from different youths around Kampala.

Reports further alleged he had run out of the country, seeking refuge in Dubai.

Don Chris has now responded to the allegations, revealing he is being fought by mafias who don't want to see his business empire boom.

He also blamed business competitors for influencing the affected youths to run to the media, explaining he had agreed to refund their money last Friday, but they broke the agreement.

Don Chris now says he wants his matter handled in court; he will only refund the unemployed youths' money after being found guilty of the alleged crimes.

"I am being fought by mafias; business competitors are the ones fighting me. I was planning to refund their money last Friday. They were brought to the media by someone who is my competitor, and now I want my matters in court. I will only refund after court finds me guilty," he explained in an interview with a local television.

Don Chris adds that the money is not five hundred million as per the allegations, revealing it's around 300 million Ugandan shillings.
