Actress and media personality Evelyn Namulondo has confirmed her aspirations for the Makindye West MP position.
Speaking in an interview with a local television station, Namulondo confirmed her interest in the position and revealed she is going to run in the coming 2026 general elections.
The well-known NUP supporter, however, didn't specify whether she will run independently, as she hasn't yet filed her interest for the position with her party.
Namulondo explained she wants to represent her people in the coming Parliament, and she is determined to run a successful campaign by mid-January 2026.
"I will run for a parliamentary position in this election. I want to represent my people on the floor of Parliament, and I intend to contest for Makindye West MP. I will be elected into leadership because I have the support," she explained.
Namulondo joins a list of other individuals from the arts industry who have already expressed interest in electoral positions across the country.
Among those are Nina Roz, Big Eye, Zambali Bulasio Mukasa, Comedian Swegere, and Comedian Reign, among others.
In Makindye West, she will battle it out with incumbent Allan Sewanyana, Musiri David, and others.
