Singer Kin Bella has come out guns blazing after discovering that her unreleased track “Ekiboobo” was leaked and released under another artist’s name — Recho Rey.
The shocking revelation has caused waves in the local music industry, with Bella alleging that her hard work was stolen and sold without her consent.
“I was there, then I saw the song ‘Ekiboobo’ by Recho Rey play,” a distraught Kin Bella said. “I went to the studio and asked my producer, Trump, what had happened. He told me they had sold it.”
Bella claims she wrote the song herself, provided the producer with all the production details, and was preparing for an official release before the alleged betrayal took place.
Adding to her frustration, the singer also accused Recho Rey of copying her music video concept, calling it a worrying example of how intellectual property rights are often ignored in Uganda’s music industry.
“They did the exact thing I had done and even copied my video concept,” she revealed.
