Leone Island boss Chameleone has come out to clear the air on claims that musicians supporting President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni are being paid huge sums of money.

Chameleone, who is performing alongside Bebe Cool and Eddy Kenzo on the campaign trail, says he is doing it for free — purely out of appreciation and loyalty to the President.

“I am not here for work or to be paid. I’m working for free because the President looked after me when I fell sick the first and second time. So it’s high time I also invest in him,” he explained in an interview with a local TV station.

The singer also emphasized that his support for the President goes beyond personal gratitude — crediting Museveni for the peace and stability Uganda has enjoyed over the years.

“I support President Museveni for many reasons, but above all, for maintaining peace and stability in the country. Most people who haven’t traveled abroad probably don’t realise how peaceful we are,” he added.

Chameleone joins a long list of musicians rallying behind the NRM flag bearer ahead of the upcoming January elections, performing at different rallies across the country.
