Different musicians have already taken sides, with many endorsing President Museveni at various rallies, while a section of them have chosen to back fellow artiste Bobi Wine.
Azawi has come out clearly to reveal that she can never perform for President Museveni and the ruling party, noting it is not something she envisions doing.
Azawi explained that she is not willing to do so, even if paid, because she doesn't believe in their agenda due to the many wrongs they have committed.
She says performances are always good when they are natural and would not choose to endorse something she doesn't believe in.
"I can't perform for NRM. I don't perform when it's not real; I just can't endorse them because of the injustices. I always choose to perform when there is genuine love and support from me," she explained.
However, Azawi says she won't perform for Bobi Wine either, despite her love for him. She wants people to make their own decisions on voting day without her influence.
"Even if I am contacted by Bobi Wine, I will first think about it. I want people to make their personal decisions on voting day. I don't want to endorse anyone in this political campaign," she explained.
