For close to six months, Presidential advisor Full Figure and Masaka City Woman MP-elect Justine Nameere have been locked in a bitter feud.
The fallout reportedly began after claims surfaced that Nameere, alongside her husband and a group of ghetto youths, allegedly confronted Full Figure while she was conducting her business in Kampala. The incident escalated tensions between the two camps, eventually prompting Full Figure to seek legal redress. The matter is currently before the courts.
Now, city tycoon Hamis Kiggundu has reportedly stepped in to mediate and restore calm between the two political figures.
It is alleged that Kiggundu, who attended prayers with the two at the Speaker’s residence in Nakasero earlier this week, used the opportunity to call for reconciliation. He is also said to have arranged a private meeting aimed at fostering unity and ending the long-standing rivalry.
Observers say his intervention could play a key role in easing tensions, especially as the court process continues.
