R&B singer Liam Voice has openly criticized the Uganda National Musicians Federation (UNMF), saying the body has no meaningful role in Uganda’s music industry.

The federation, which is led by Eddy Kenzo, was established to advocate for musicians’ welfare and push for reforms such as the long-awaited copyright law amendment.

However, Liam Voice says he is not impressed with the federation’s work so far.

Speaking in an interview with a local television station, the singer expressed frustration with the organization, claiming it does not truly represent the needs of musicians.

“That federation has no place in the music industry. It is not concerned about the musicians’ needs. It’s just another gathering of different musicians,” he said.

He also argued that the federation has not shown enough commitment toward pushing for the copyright law amendment, which many artists believe would significantly improve their earnings and protection.

Liam Voice further suggested that some musicians believe the federation’s focus is mainly on accessing government funds rather than solving the real challenges affecting artists.
