Musician Chozen Blood has spoken about his five-year healing journey following the death of his mother, saying the experience transformed his outlook on life, relationships and self-discovery.
The singer revealed that he lost his mother during the COVID-19 lockdown, describing the period as the beginning of a deeply personal process of healing.
Speaking in a media interview, Chozen Blood said he turned to fitness as part of his recovery, crediting fellow singer Winnie Nwagi for introducing him to Kash Gym, where he began rebuilding his confidence and emotional resilience.
"I have been on a healing journey for five years since I lost my mother. During the lockdown, I started working out, and Winnie took me to Kash Gym to build self-resilience, self-love and self-awareness," he said.
According to the singer, the journey helped him recognize that many of his past relationships were affected by his lack of personal boundaries and emotional awareness.
"I later realized that my relationships were affecting me because I didn't know my boundaries and other important things. That's why I decided to take a break from relationships," he said.
Chozen Blood added that he is not yet ready to fully commit to a romantic relationship, explaining that he is still focused on personal growth.
"For now, it's hard for me to attach to one person romantically. If I tell you I love only you, then I am lying. That means I am still on a journey of self-love and self-discovery," he added.
