Local hip hop has had enormous hurdles and not much has been achieved in conquering them. Rappers have become like scared dogs that fold their tails when another dog barks.

They are vulnerable, talented but the hard work does not pay off. One rapper has decided has decided to face the struggle head on!

Okiror Emmanuel aka Oki Foever is formerly a member of the lugaflow army and currently founder of the Uganda Rap League an organization that engages local indigenous youth through the creativity of hip hop music, this is accomplished through a series of battle competitions.

The youth involved in the competition will display their creativity and command of both Luganda and English language.

The goal is to inspire creativity, confidence and unity through community interaction. The winner of each category will receive cash and prizes the Uganda Rap League is supported by Neal Kelley C.E.O of Raven Broadcast in the United States. This move is aimed at taking hip hop to the grassroots while giving back to the community
