Musician Cinderella Sanyu, also known as Cindy, has been in the music industry for over fifteen years. Throughout her career, she has released an extensive catalog of classic music.
Over time, she has inspired various people to join the music industry. Many of these are female artists who have publicly spoken highly of her.
The President of the Uganda Musicians Association has now revealed that she is considering quitting hosting concerts in favor of music festivals.
She explained that concerts are very limiting when it comes to performances, and an artist can't perform extensively due to time limitations.
However, festivals last for days, allowing artists to perform extensively. She mentioned that because festivals have no time constraints, different artists from every region can come and showcase their work.
"It's true that I am one of the legendary musicians alive who has inspired many singers in the industry today," she explained. "And as you asked, a concert does truly limit me because you don't get the time to perform most of your songs. So, as an artist and president of UMA, I will definitely consider staging a festival. This can include musicians from the north, west, and elsewhere, so that partiers can have a buffet of performances."
Festivals are events organized to celebrate not only music but also art and culture. In Uganda, the most popular festival is the Nyege Nyege event, which takes place every year in Jinja.
It brings artists from across the world to celebrate and showcase their artistry, music, and culture, among other things.
