Musician Dax Vibez has expressed disappointment in the Uganda National Musicians Federation (UNMF) over its recent decision to purchase Allure Suites, a hotel located in Mutundwe.

The development was confirmed by Eddy Kenzo, who revealed that the property — which the federation had been renting since its launch — was officially bought by President Museveni for artistes across the country. The facility reportedly includes studio rooms and accommodation for musicians without homes.

However, Dax Vibez believes the funds could have been better utilized. He argued that instead of buying a hotel, the federation should have invested in acquiring an events venue that would help musicians cut costs when organizing concerts.

“I disagree with UNMF’s decision to buy a hotel. The funds could have supported artists’ venues or event spaces. Imagine if they bought a place where musicians could stage concerts — that would have been more beneficial,” he said in an interview with a local TV station.

The singer further criticized Eddy Kenzo for losing focus on the amendment of the copyright law, which he says should be the federation’s top priority.
